Mutual Aid EMS Named Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce’s Non-Profit of the Month.
On behalf of the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce, we are thrilled to announce Mutual Aid Ambulance Service as the recipient of our prestigious "Non-Profit of the Month" award for April. Mutual Aid is a cornerstone of our community, providing essential emergency and medical transport services to over 200,000 residents across 29 municipalities spanning nearly 900 square miles in Westmoreland, Fayette, and Somerset counties.
What sets Mutual Aid apart is not only its extensive coverage area but also its unwavering commitment to excellence in emergency medical care. Employees undergo rigorous training and maintain certifications with the National Registry Certification, ensuring that they are equipped to handle a wide range of medical emergencies. From physical trauma to cardiac irregularities, respiratory distress to drug overdose reversal, Mutual Aid's dedicated team of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs), Paramedics, and Prehospital Registered Nurses (PHRNs) deliver immediate and lifesaving care to patients of all ages. Moreover, Mutual Aid plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community during large-scale events, such as athletics events, festivals, concerts, and spectator gatherings.
Through its Special Operations division, Mutual Aid meticulously plans and coordinates medical support for these events, working closely with event organizers, community agencies, and public safety officials to guarantee seamless patient care. It's important to note that Mutual Aid Ambulance Service operates as a 501(c) non-profit organization, receiving no direct subsidies from municipalities or revenue from emergency and municipal services taxes. Instead, it relies on billing healthcare insurance for services rendered and donations from generous individuals and organizations to sustain its vital operations. Your support directly enables Mutual Aid to invest in cutting-edge medical equipment and continually modernize its fleet of vehicles, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of emergency medical care in our region.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mutual Aid Ambulance Service for being named the Chamber's Non-Profit of the Month. But more importantly, we extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated men and women who serve our community tirelessly, 24/7, saving and sustaining lives each day. If you wish to support Mutual Aid EMS in its mission, donations are greatly appreciated and can be made in honor or memory of a loved one. Your generosity not only helps sustain Mutual Aid's operations but also serves as a meaningful tribute to those we hold dear.
Once again, congratulations to Mutual Aid Ambulance Service on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your invaluable service to our community.
