Leadership Westmoreland Alumni, alongside other industry representatives and professional speakers from around Westmoreland County, played a pivotal role in the success of Leadership Westmoreland Youth Academy 2024. Held from June 17-21, 2024, at the Westmoreland Conservation District's location on Donahoe Road in Greensburg, the Academy hosted high school students from across Westmoreland County. The venue, a restored barn situated on acres of property, provided a unique and fitting backdrop for the week-long event.

Rob Cronauer, LW '19, the District Manager/CEO, and Chelsea Walker, LW '20, the Watershed Program Manager, were instrumental throughout the week. Chelsea not only offered support and delivered a presentation but also facilitated an interactive experience with the Westmoreland County Beekeepers Association, using hives located on the property.

Dan DeBone, LW '22, Westmoreland County President & CEO, showed strong support for the program and even served as the chef for a picnic on Wednesday. Tyler Baum, LW '22, Private Equity Associate at Continuim Equity Partners, encouraged his mentee, a high school student, to join the Academy.

Dave Swank, LW '23, Assistant Director of Education at Fort Ligonier, guided students on an extensive tour of the Fort and Museum, despite challenging weather conditions. Keisha Che're Jimmerson, LW '23, Dean of Students and Diversity Officer at Seton Hill University, led a discussion on the importance of understanding diversity for future success.

Additionally, UPMC East alumni, including Daren Busch, LW '24, RN, Quality Nurse Coordinator, Laura Shean, LW '23, Lead Respiratory Therapist, and Michael Granny, LW '24, Director of Respiratory Care & Emergency Management Coordinator at UPMC East & UPMC McKeesport, organized interactive stations to educate students about careers in the medical field.

The dedication and support from Leadership Westmoreland Alumni underscore their significant impact in Westmoreland County.
