The Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce was honored to attend today’s groundbreaking event for the $16 million Weatherwood Park and Municipal Complex in Hempfield Township!
A huge congratulations to Hempfield Township Leadership Doug Weimer, Bill Bretz, Jay Anderson, and Aaron Siko for advancing this incredible project. The park will feature a splash pad, playground, outdoor fitness and yoga areas, pavilion, walking trail, and a building for restrooms and concessions. The municipal complex — which will be completed in tandem with the park — could house fire department headquarters, the Hempfield Emergency Management Agency and ambulance bays in partnership with Mutual Aid.
This project is one of many steps in the county's comprehensive plan, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Commissioner Sean Kertes, Ted Kopas, Doug Chew, Jason Rigone of the Industrial Development Corporation, and Jim Smith of the Economic Growth Connection.
Special thanks to Senator Kim Ward for her unwavering advocacy and support in securing state funding to help our communities grow, both residentially and commercially.
