The Champion Behind the Chamber Champion Award

As many of our members and beyond are aware, the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrates a "Chamber Champion" each month. This honor is awarded to a deserving business, large or small, selected by our Ambassador Committee, which is comprised of current Chamber members. These members represent a diverse array of organizations—from mom-and-pop shops and non-profits to entrepreneurs and large corporations.

For nearly two years, the Chamber Champion Award has recognized organizations not only for their contributions to our local economy but also for their efforts in making Westmoreland County a better place to live, grow, and thrive. Each month, the honoree is presented with the coveted Chamber Champion Belt.

One question frequently arises during the award presentations: “Where did the belt come from, and who makes it?”

The answer surprises and delights many—it was crafted by none other than Andrew Lazarchick, a Latrobe, PA native and the founder of Wildcat Championship Belts.

A Passion for Craftsmanship

Andrew Lazarchick’s journey began as a childhood dream. Growing up in the 1980s and 1990s, he was (and still is) a passionate wrestling fan. At just nine years old, Andrew started drawing championship belts on computer paper and wearing them around the house. His creativity grew over time, using materials like brass door kick plates, hand-held metal engravers, and leftover rubber roofing to craft his designs.

In 2005, Andrew transformed his passion into a business, founding Wildcat Championship Belts in Latrobe. With unwavering dedication, over 10,000 hours of practice, and the help of a skilled team of craftsmen, artisans, and metalworkers, Wildcat Championship Belts became a premier provider of championship belts.

Wildcat’s belts are now the gold standard for champions in WWE, Ring of Honor Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and countless other promotions worldwide. Wildcat’s belts are now the gold standard for champions on WWE Raw, Smackdown and NXT.

Beyond the Wrestling Ring

Wildcat Championship Belts has expanded far beyond the world of wrestling, designing custom belts for a variety of events and occasions. Their clients include prestigious organizations and events such as Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, Pepsi's NFL Rookie of the Week, Tony Stewart’s NASCAR victories, Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions, PGA star Zach Johnson's USA Ryder Cup team, Hip Hop and Country Music star Post Malone, The Pittsburgh Penguins and Google among others.

Wildcat offers a range of belt styles for any budget” with four distinct belt styles: Economy, Classic, Victory, and Premium.

Honoring Champions and Building Community

As the Chamber continues to recognize a monthly Chamber Champion, each recipient will also be considered for the Chamber’s Annual Award for "Business of the Year."
