March Chamber Champion – East Suburban Sports Medicine Center (ESSMC)

East Suburban Sports Medicine Center (ESSMC) Physical Therapy has been serving the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh since 1984. Founded on May 15th, 1984, with its original location in Monroeville, ESSMC currently has nine locations across Allegheny (Monroeville, Penn Hills, Plum) and Westmoreland counties (North Huntingdon, Murrysville, Penn Township, Greensburg, Kiski & Scottdale).

Orthopedic care & sports injuries remain their primary service, however, over the past five years new and exciting programs have been added to better serve the region and the needs of all. They now offer Neuro Rehab which includes LSVT Big and LSVT Loud Programs (designed specifically for those who have suffered from Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and many other types of neurological disabilities), Vestibular, Concussion, and Speech Therapy. Other therapy services include Occupational Therapy, Pelvic Health, Women’s Health, Hand Therapy, and a program unique to ESSMC called “Freedom from Chronic Pain” which breaks away from the traditional role of Pain Management and focuses on Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) to eradicate pain instead of continuing to mask it!

East Suburban Sports Medicine Center (ESSMC) recently celebrated their 40th Anniversary in May of 2024. President John Bonaroti spoke on what it means to celebrate 40 years of service to the region, “We are so proud to be celebrating 40 years of service in the East communities, and we are grateful for all the wonderful relationships that we have established over the years. We are now treating the third generation in a lot of families, which is really cool. “

East Suburban Sports Medicine Center is honored to be chosen as the Westmoreland Chamber Champion for March and plans on doing some cool things with the belt over the next month.
