Our Mission
To foster the development of future Westmoreland County leaders, Leadership Westmoreland empowers professionals to learn, grow and lead through a learning experience designed to enhance community awareness, networking and leadership skills.
Offered annually from September through May, the tuition-based Leadership Westmoreland program is designed to cultivate emerging leaders, enhance leadership skills, and inspire creative problem-solving across Westmoreland County.
Through monthly full-day sessions, participants develop essential leadership competencies while gaining firsthand insight into how the county functions. They collaborate in teams on community-based projects that address real-world challenges—strengthening their ability to lead with impact and influence positive change. Each year, the program welcomes a cohort of approximately 20–25 individuals who are passionate about personal growth and committed to advancing their communities. Session topics include: leadership assessments, team building, civic responsibility, communication, conflict resolution, change management, emotional intelligence, and inclusion.
The next cohort begins in September 2025 with graduation being held in May of 2026. Application deadline: July 20, 2025
