The Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce is happy to help spread the word about one of our amazing chamber members who create delicious treats with an impactful mission. We are proud to honor SpectroDolce Confectionery as January’s Chamber Champion!
Current statistics show that there is about an 85% unemployment rate for adults diagnosed with autism. SpectroDolce has created a safe place for individuals on the spectrum to gain meaningful workplace experience while preparing for a career in a field of their choosing. Their staff is made up of almost all neurodiverse adults. SpectroDolce provides training, support, and a meaningful workplace experience while running a thriving confectionery business. Their process involves employment, typically between 6-12 months, where SpectroDolce will help facilitate connections and assist with career building skills like communication, resume building, and interviewing.
SpectroDolce began a partnership with Achieving True Self – a multi-state provider of services for children, teens, and adults who have autism, behavioral health diagnosis, and/or intellectual disabilities – in September of 2024. The partnership seemed like a natural fit, allowing both organizations to expand.
Everyone can enjoy the tasty sweets from SpectroDolce at local trade shows, vendor shows, showers, parties, etc, and they also offer fundraising opportunities. They have generously provided treats at multiple Chamber events over the past few years. Online orders are available and will be a focal point for them moving forward.
One challenge they currently face is their location in the Monroeville Mall will be closing in the near future due to changes coming to the mall property. They are in the process of seeking a new space, somewhere in the range of 2500 square feet, where they can relocate to provide the same employment opportunities and friendly service. They are open to ideas and welcome outreach with any potential suitors!
