Sendell Motors is a long-standing, family-owned staple business in Greensburg. For decades, they have served customers throughout Westmoreland County and the greater Pittsburgh region. Their dealership operates dedicated franchises for Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, and Subaru vehicles, alongside a full service and parts department to support their customers long after their purchase. In addition to vehicle sales, the business includes advanced service offerings and community-oriented amenities like the Greensburg Collision Center for body repair.
The roots of the business stretch back over a century through the Mohler family’s involvement in the automotive industry. Chris and Bill’s great-grandfather, Edward W. Mohler, began with the Mohler Motor Company, a Buick dealer in Pittsburgh in 1909. Over generations, the family relocated operations to Greensburg and expanded brand offerings. In 1980, William M. Mohler purchased the operations of Sendell Motors at its current Route 30 location and moved the Buick franchise there. Over time, additional brands were added—Volkswagen in 1991, Oldsmobile in 1993, Mitsubishi in 2001, and Subaru most recently in 2014—reflecting steady growth and adaptation to evolving market demand.
Today, Sendell Motors blends its historic family heritage with modern dealership operations. With Sendell Motors, and the Mohler Motor Company prior, 4 generations of the Mohler family have been in the business of selling and servicing vehicles for more than 100 years.
Sendell Motors has a strong reputation for supporting the surrounding community as well. In addition to being a long-time member of our chamber, Sendell Motors has been nationally recognized by Subaru of America, Inc. in 2025 for their dedication to their customers, community, and the Subaru Love Promise. The Subaru Love Promise Customer and Community Commitment Award recognizes elite Subaru retailer who provide an exceptional customer experience at every interaction with Subaru. These retailers have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to supporting passions and causes in their local communities in important areas such as environment, community, health, education, and pets.
